Justification of absences
Requests for justification of absences must be submitted exclusively through the online form:

In the form, the student must attach the appropriate supporting documentation, in accordance with ESSa’s Pedagogical Regulations (Art. 5, no. 5).
Deadline: only requests submitted within 5 working days after the absence are considered.
The following absences are considered justified:
a) Illness or compliance with legal obligations;
b) Outpatient treatment, medical appointments or complementary diagnostic tests that demonstrably cannot be carried out outside school hours;
c) Death of a spouse, relative or in-law, under the terms of labour legislation;
d) Participation, duly proven or authorised, in:
- activities of Academic Associations (AA), Student Associations (AE) or Academic Tunas (traditional student music groups);
- driving tests;
- National Defence Day (Dia da Defesa Nacional);
- conferences, colloquia or similar events of scientific and curricular relevance, authorised by the Director of the School;
e) Participation in meetings of bodies and structures of the School or of IPB;
f) Participation in polling stations at School or IPB elections.
Proof of attendance at an assessment
To prove attendance at an assessment, the student must:
- Download and fill in the PDF;
- Ask the lecturer responsible for the course unit to confirm it;
- Ask the Student Services Office to stamp the document to validate it.
